We bought our Paudash Lake cottage in 2004 with the help of Emma. In fact Emma was the one who found us the most perfect spot…a 2 acre point lot with water on all 3 sides. She understood exactly what we were looking for and she kept searching for us for more than three months. Unfortunately there was more than one offer on this property, but thanks to Emma’s experience and negotiating abilities, we ended up with our dream property and a really good friend.

Our experience with Emma was top notch.  Our new waterfront cottage purchase was completely stress free, this is also why we trusted Emma with dual agency in our purchase upon first meeting her.  She originally represented the buyers, but with a great deal of integrity and professionalism she agreed to also represent our best interests as well.  Something which can be very difficult in these situations but we sailed through together.

Emma also has a wealth of information for any services you may need in cottage country, she provided us with a name and number of a gentleman who plowed our driveway before we moved in since we took occupancy March 9^th, 2012.  It was done as promised and will be using their service next winter.

Emma also provided us with numbers for contractors and a new insurance provider who we also transferred our house insurance to.  We were also given a contact who does cottage turn over services in the area since we will be renting periodically.  It was a very fun meeting to say the least and didn’t seem much like a interview at all and look forward to working with as well.

My Year With Emma: In Search of the Perfect Cottage!

I lost count of how many properties Emma searched out and presented to me, only to hear from me once again, “I don’t think it’s what I want”.

We stood in awe of the beautiful Fall colours as the lakes reflected back. We walked together through the knee-deep snow of Winter. We had mud encrusted vehicles and were grateful for 4 X 4s in the early Spring. We were swarmed by black flies and mosquitos as Summer approached.

Not once did Emma even consider giving up the search for the cottage property I was looking for. I had very particular wants/needs for the ideal property and Emma found it!

Emma’s listing generated a lot of interest in our property and there were more showings than expected, however no offers until very near the expiration of the listing. Our property appealed to very specific buyers due to being off the grid and also having a steep hill down to the lake. It might have been helpful if advertising reflected these qualities of the property.
